Deeb Abou Shala is a Lebanese writer, playwright, lyricist, composer, and television and radio presenter, with a prolific career spanning over five decades. A graduate of the Lebanese Artists’ Union Institute, he specialized in theatrical arts and music and has been a prominent contributor to the Lebanese and Arab cultural scene since the early 1970s.
He wrote, directed, and composed for a wide array of theatrical works, radio dramas, and television shows across Lebanon, Kuwait, Egypt, and other Arab countries. Known for his sharp wit and unique comedic touch, he also created a number of satirical and social commentary programs.
Deeb collaborated with some of the most celebrated Arab singers and performers, including Ragheb Alama, Mona Maraachli, Nihad Fattouh, Ahmad Doukan, Feirouz Wahbi, and Walid Toufic. His songs, anthems, and musical scripts have left a lasting imprint on the Arab musical landscape.
In addition to his creative work, he trained broadcasters, supervised numerous media projects, and worked with ministries and educational institutions to shape artistic and cultural content. He is a member of the Lebanese Syndicate of Professional Actors and continues to contribute to the arts through writing, mentoring, and live performance.
